JMRI - DCC Specialties Scripts

If you came here looking for the JMRI scripts to program DCC Specialties products, the latest version is packaged with the JMRI software. They can also be found in the files section of the JMRI users group on Yahoo. Scripts included for programming the Block Watcher, Hare, Wabbit, PSX and PSX-AR. MGB fully supports the JMRI project and encourages everyone to do the same. What a better world would we have if we all worked together like the JMRI community.

Digitrax - Programming Long Address 128 - 9983

Have you ever wished there were an easy way to program a long address into a locomotive and that's it? Confused by all the CV this, Hex that, and Decimal Value? Want to bypass using JMRI? Can't use the programming track because the sound unit in your locomotive needs a programming booster? We understand. I can't tell you how many times I just wanted to program the address only for ourselves or friends that visit. So, I set out to make some simple to follow instructions that anyone can do with a DT400 series throttle.

Now input the desired locomotive address and click Calculate, then follow the instructions.

Enter Locomotive Address
Step 1: Using your DT400 Series throttle and your mainline track (Not the Programming Track), acquire the locomotive you want to change the address of. In most cases this will be address 3. Press Loco, Press 3, Press Loco. Now, make sure the loco moves and responds to your commands. Now stop the train.
Step 2: Now Press and Release the PROG key until Po appears in the center of the lower line of the throttle display and 3 (Or Current Address) appears in the lower right corner of the display.
Step 3: Now using the Left knob, dial up 17 on the top left display.
Step 4: Now using the Right knob, dial up on the top right display.
Step 5: Now press Enter
Step 6: Now using the Left knob, dial up 18 on the top left display.
Step 7: Now using the Right knob, dial up on the top right display.
Step 8: Now press Enter
Step 9: Now using the Left knob, dial up 29 on the top left display.
Step 10: Now using the Right knob, dial up 34 on the top right display.
Step 11: Now press Enter
Step 12: Now press Exit
Step 13: Now Dispatch Locomotive 3 (Or Old Address). Press Loco, Pres Disp.

Programming should be complete and you can acquire the locomotive by the new address.

Now you may ask or wonder about the 34 placed in CV29. This is the most common value for most locomotives needing a 4 digit long address. If you need other things programmed that involve CV29, I suggest using JMRI.
