The MGB Model Railroad Club is located in Central Alabama, near Montgomery, Millbrook, Wetumpka, Maxwell and Gunter Air Force Bases. We are an informal group of train enthusists. Interests in the hobby are diverse in our club. Feel free to visit, see if there is something you like.
We are an HO scale Digitrax DCC club with a permanent layout. Don't let "Digitrax DCC" intimidate you. DCC is easy, and a whole lot of fun. Join us one Saturday and in just a few minutes, you will be operating trains. We enjoy simulating railroad operations on the layout, also called operating sessions.
We also enjoy going train watching (rail fans), taking pictures and video of the trains we find. Many of the pictures we share here on our website and in our newsletters.
As a model railroad club, our mission is to "pursue happiness" by designing, constructing, operating and maintaining model train layouts. In addition, we always encourage others to become interested in this hobby which has so much to offer - carpentry, electrical work, painting and scenery design to name just a few. We want to learn from other model railroaders and we love to share what we ourselves have learned about model railroading.
We are passionate about model railroading and we want others to learn why we feel that way. We believe that model railroading is a worthwhile endeavor and one that should be both shared and celebrated!
